Nepali batsman Dipendra Singh Airee etched his name in cricket history by becoming only the third player to smash six sixes in a single over during an international T20 match. He achieved this remarkable feat in the final over against Qatar during the ACC Men’s Premier Cup match in Al Amerat on Saturday.

Coming to the crease needing a quickfire score, Airee started the last over on 28 runs from just 15 balls with Nepal’s total at 174/7. He then unleashed his power, sending every delivery from medium pacer Kamran Khan sailing over the boundary for six sixes. This explosive display helped him finish the innings unbeaten on an impressive 64 runs from only 21 deliveries, propelling Nepal to a strong total of 210 runs.

Qatar’s chase fell short by 32 runs, and Airee even contributed with two wickets to his name. With this historic feat, Airee joins an exclusive club that previously included only legendary batsman Yuvraj Singh (who achieved it against Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup) and West Indies’ power hitter Kieron Pollard (who did it against Akila Dananjaya in 2021). It’s worth noting that Herschelle Gibbs and Jaskaran Malhotra have also achieved this feat in ODI cricket.
